V-Day cookies

Here are the valentines cookies I do every year. I cheat on every year to. I use the cookie mix and store bought frosting.
Here are the cookies baking in the new oven. It's nice having a oven that evenly bakes and bales at the recommended bakes times.

Nice and golden!!!!

Pretty-n-Pink with sprinkles on top.

I love sugar cookies! They are one of my favorites. I only make them once a year because of that.

looking ahead.....of lettuce

Well…. I have been slacking. I started this Blog to share my thoughts and recommendations with people and I have been doing a horrible job. I could think of excuses but I’m not so I’m thinking of ways to motivate myself to do a great job at this project. I’m thinking of electing every month with a subject for example: grilling, broiling, meat, vegetables, etc.
So for March I thought it would be nice to make my theme a healthy theme. Taking recipes I already know and making them healthy. I am NOT a health expert but I have so tricks to cut the fat/calories. It’s not about losing weight or hopping on the band wagon of diets it’s about eating great food with a health twist. Trying new things and discovering the good and bad ways to change the recipe.
I will finish February with my fudge recipe, sugar cookies and a couple more loves of mine. Since February is all about love!!!
I am also trying to figure out this posting pictures and Blog thing. I’m not very good at it. I also see so many Blogs that are beautiful! They have great backgrounds and themes I have NO idea how to do that. I will set sometime aside to explore.

I will post my fudge and sugar cookie recipe this week!

The love of Fudge

I still have no big ideas for cooking this weekend. It was requested by a long time friend that I whip up a batch of fudge. I had not seen Stan is such a long time one of the first things he said to me is how much he loves my fudge and that every time he hears my name he thinks of the fudge I made when he would be in town for the holidays. The way he talked about fudge and the memory of how good it tasted. I was suprised that he would even remember I had made it!!! He now lives far far away and I don't get to see him much at all. It's funny the things you remember about people and how things can bring you back to them. He did mention every time he speaks to his mother-in-law he mentions how good the fudge would taste. That never gets relayed to me.....So this weekend I plan on making a BIG batch and send it across the world so he can enjoy!

It's so funny to me that something so small would be remembered for so long. I have had many request over the years for things that people have enjoyed that I don't realize it being something extra. I enjoy cooking and it makes me so happy that something that I love to do makes people happy!!

February

February is a special month. It's the month of LOVE & Birthdays!! Many friends and I have birthday celebrations so this month I am going to make several recipes relating to birthday and valentine celebration! I already have made a chocolate cake with chocolate pudding and chocolate frosting with my grandma for my Uncle's birthday (2/2). I am celebrating my friend Amy's birthday (2/5) when I go to Ohio to visit at the end of the month. A shout out to Eddie (2/7) and then Valentines day. We don't usually go overboard for Valentines day but this year I'm going ALL out! It will be a nice pick me up for the winter blues. I am still coming up with ideas for a menu. I'll keep you updated as I get more ideas.

For my birthday I am going to this great cafe for lunch! I love the River Rose Cafe! They are a great lunch stop in the town of Owego! The food never disappoints. They have creative meals that make you come back for more.

I will keep you updated on this week recipes shortly. Have a great day!
